At ZedCare, we understand the importance of providing comprehensive support and temporary accommodation solutions for individuals with disabilities and their families or caregivers. That’s why our Short-Term Accommodation services, including Respite Care, are designed to offer a much-needed break for caregivers while ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of individuals with disabilities.
Our STA services offer individuals with disabilities a temporary home away from home. Whether it’s for a few hours, a weekend, or a longer stay, our aim is to create a supportive and nurturing environment where individuals can relax, engage in activities, and socialize with peers.
Respite Care is an integral part of our STA services. We understand that caregiving can be physically and emotionally demanding, and caregivers deserve the opportunity to rest, recharge, and attend to their personal needs. Our Respite Care services provide temporary relief to caregivers, allowing them to take a break while knowing that their loved ones are well taken care of by our trained and compassionate staff.
We recognize that each individual has unique needs and preferences. Our dedicated team works closely with families, caregivers, and participants to develop personalized support plans. We ensure that the support provided during STA, including Respite Care, aligns with the individual’s goals, routines, and specific requirements.
Our team consists of highly trained and compassionate professionals who are dedicated to providing the highest standard of care. They possess the skills and expertise to support individuals with diverse needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and enjoyment throughout their STA stay.
At ZedCare, we are committed to delivering quality STA services that prioritize the comfort, dignity, and empowerment of individuals with disabilities. We continuously monitor and evaluate our programs to ensure we meet the highest standards of care and strive for continuous improvement.

Medium-term accommodation refers to a time-limited transitional support provided to individuals with disabilities while they await long-term housing solutions. It focuses on meeting the participant’s disability-related housing needs during this transition period.
The funding for medium-term accommodation covers the accommodation component only and is provided alongside the participant’s informal supports and NDIS-funded supports. This includes services like assistive technology, assistance with daily life, and community access supports. Medium-term accommodation is funded when there is confirmation of a long-term housing solution, such as a Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) tenancy or pending home modifications. The NDIS generally funds medium-term accommodation for participants who are transitioning from hospital, rehabilitation, aged care, or custodial settings, or when their current accommodation is unsustainable due to the impact of their disability.
However, it does not fund medium-term accommodation for participants on waiting lists for social or community housing, those requiring Short Term Accommodation (STA) or respite, or in response to crises or rapid changes in circumstances.
The duration of funding for medium-term accommodation is typically up to 90 days, but it can be extended if there is evidence that the long-term housing solution will be available within a specified timeframe. Funding for medium-term accommodation should be clearly outlined in the participant’s statement of supports to ensure the necessary housing support is provided as described.
